Hey ladies, Im really sorry about the last minuteness of this, but with the weather and people being sick it does not seem as if having this meeting is the greatest idea. I do have some notes and updates: 1. FLYERS: If you want flyers still and you cant make it to next week's meeting, just contact me and I will meet you on campus. Im there between 11:30 and 5 tommorow so just drop me a line and I will bring them to you. 2. UC TABLES I.E. Monologue Mondays: WE made about 100 dollars in t-shirt sales (yea!) I will get the report on which shirts sold later. I dont think we sold any tickets but that is normal. Attached is a revised list so that you can see the spaces still available. 3. CASH BOXES? WE need cash boxes so that we can give a float along with the tickets to the Wellness centre and CSA. We might be able to borrow them from CSA but im not sure for how long. If you have access to one, that we can borrow for 3 weeks, please contact me. 4. UNDERWEAR: How is that coming? if someone could send me an update that would be great. 5. CAST T-SHIRTS. I was wondering if we could use the " I Survived the patriarchy" logo on the front and the Vday logo w the peace signs in the "V" on the back. We could do a t-shirt instead of a hoodie. Reply to this email to let me know what you think. 6. JENN: Krissy wants to know how the Usher search is coming along? Kristina Budny: <kbudny@gamsby.com> Also, the UC table did start at 9 but no one is volunteering for that time, and frankly if I can set up at 10 instead of 9 I will. WE wont loose the spot if we open at that time so we coo. 7. HEATHER: Can we start advertising for the benefit? Thanks for understanding. Next week there will be one for sure to discuss how the table sold and about last minute benefit stuff. -Alicia Tags: steering committee

I got this message from a lovely member of SAFE which is a program run through the Wellness Centre. If you want to participate please forward it to her. Thanks guys! Her email is: haliyarz@uoguelph.ca Hey Alicia, SAFE is going to be doing an event with the Peace Week committy (pending approval) on February 1st. Its going to be in the Bullring and have people singing, reciting poetry, doing monologues, etc. Anyway we were hoping to sell tickets at the event for Vagina Monologues and we were wondering if any of the actresses would like to come out and do a monologue from vag mon. I thought the moaner would go over great and inspire a lot of people to buy tickets but I wasn't sure if it would be allowed to perform the monologues or if the actresses would be interested. If you could get back to me I would really appreciate it. Sincerely, Hoda Tags: safe event. wellness centre

Hello! The V-day events are well on their way. Most things are set up and ready, we just need a few more vounteers to ensure their sucess! We are having people sit in the UC to sell tickets and merchandise but we still need some slots filled. (A remeinder for those who have volunteered already will be listed at the end of this email). The dates are: Thursday January 11th, Monday January 22, Monday January 29, Monday February 5th. The merch, a donation jar and the tickets will be there at the table and someone will be there at 5 to pick it all up. All you have to do is sit, take money and make some new friends (oh and write down when something has been sold, but honestly thats the most complicated thing.) So we have some times that still need to be filled and they are as follows: Thurs jan 11th 2pm-3pm, 3pm-4pm, 4pm-5pm. Mon Jan 22 10am-11am, 12pm-1pm, 1pm-2pm Mon Jan 29 10am-11am, 11am-12pm, 12pm-1pm, 1pm-2pm, 3pm-4pm, 4pm-5pm. Mon Feb 5th all day has not been filled. Reminders!! Thurs January 11: 10am-11am: Michelle 11am-12pm: Jessica and Patricia 12pm-1pm: Karisa 1pm-2pm: Christine Monday January 22: 11am-12pm: Michelle 2pm-3pm: Jessica, Kayla 3pm-5pm Bailey Monday January 29: 2pm-3pm: Jessica and Kayla. Thank you to all who have volunteered. Remember, there are other ways you can help too. There are still flyers to be handed out that can picked up at next weeks meeting i.e. Monday Jan 15th at 6pm in the MACK alcove. See you there! Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful break, but now its back the grind. AHAHAHA! Just to let you know the banner we put up on the downtown bridge is booked and ready to go up on the 29th! Keep an eye out for it and tell all your friends. So what’s coming up? Glad you asked! Monday January 8th, 6pm MACK alcove under the stairs facing the library: IT’S THE FIRST STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING OF 2007!!!!! YAH! We will be discussing: 1. ticket/merch sales in the UC. We need volunteers to sit in the UC and sell stuff. Drop me an email or show up at the meeting (please), to discuss a time that is convenient for you. Cast and Crew and friends thereof are welcome to come and sit for us. 2. Handing out flyers. We are advertising with flyers. Its fun and easy, all you need is enthusiasm! (Not even really, you just need a handful of flyers and a free afternoon to hand them out) Just walk around where there is a large percentage of people traffic and hand out as many flyers as you can in the time span you have available. (Feel free to compete with each other, oh and have fun doing it!) You can pick up the flyers at the meetings or just email me and I will give them to you myself. 3. PDR checks. Ok so not as exciting but this money is crucial to the show and, oh ya, its whole purpose for existing. There are some checks that have not been picked up or perhaps they have and no one has told me. Maybe someone picked it up, went to Bermuda, had a great time, drank cocktails with a guy named Pablo and forgot that it was still in the front pocket of their pack sack. That’s fine; just drop me a line if this is the case. 4. The benefit. We will discuss what and who will be there and how you can help make this exciting event the best one ever! 5. Programs. Krissy needs your bios ASAP!!! Send them to her email at shewalks@gmail.com. I put .ca in the mass email I think (oops). You can send it to me or becca as well who will promptly sent it to her. It needs to be in! Ok so that's it. I hope to see lots of you there at the meeting; remember new people are always welcome. -Alicia Tags: advertising, pdr, steering committee, the benefit

helllo ladies! i hope you are all having a wonderful break and taking some time to relax before we get busy again. i finally have my rehearsal schedule for romeo and juliet, and .... it doesn't leave a whole lot of room. luckily, it doesn't get super busy until week 4, and we're done at the end of week 5....so it will work, but i'm afraid that sunday rehearsals are going to have to be pretty early. my romeo and juliet rehearsals on sunday are from 1:30-5:30. we have to go before if we are to be done before buses stop running, and the consensus at the last rehearsal seemed to be that even pretty early on sundays was better than saturday afternoons, although - if that has changed, i'd like to know. for now, let's schedule our sunday rehearsals from 10-1 on sunday mornings, and if it turns out after the first week that we're ending early, i'll move it to 11-1. i know mornings suck, but there are only four of them! also - please schedule your one-on-ones with me as soon as you can after my schedule goes up. i might not be working for hospitality this semester, which will make things easier..... anyway. let me know if there are any problems, and i will try to accomodate as many people as possible, but it looks like sunday mornings will have to do. xxxxx, -'becca!!! And though he is given more screen time than anyone else in Employee of the Month, the star attraction isn’t really Dane, or even Dax Shepard (who I do find intermittently amusing, just not here), but the manufactured product(s) of Joe Simpson, i.e., Jessica’s cleavage, or what I like to euphemistically refer to as “Papa’s Bears,” which are pushed up and strapped onto Goldilocks with what appears to be industrial-strength adhesive. The entire premise of Employee of the Month, of course, is a competition between Zack (Cook) and Vince (Shepard) over who will win a date with Amy’s (Simpson) breasts by securing the title of “Employee of the Month.” And, really, what could be more 21st century post-modern than the “woman-as-trophy” conceit? I just think it’s fantastic that director Greg Coolidge (Sorority Boys) finds new and exciting ways to infantilize women, objectify them as mounds of flesh one can rest upon a counter, and then make them appear bubbly and intellectually deficient, thereby affording the men in the audience an opportunity to feel smarter by comparison. I mean, really, isn’t that the entire basis for Jessica Simpson? Indignify her with knee-high boots and low-cut, nipply, see-through tops and give her vacuous dialogue that she can deliver while batting her eyelashes, and then allow men to figuratively pull out their penises and engage in medieval cockfights (or ring-offs at a cash register, here) over a woman who will interminably make them feel intellectually superior because the victor has been awarded the literal booby prize? When it comes right down to it, isn’t that why men enjoyed “Newlyweds”? For its ability to reaffirm the male’s dominant status in 22-minute increments?
-Dustine Rowles, Pajiba.

Hey, As a way of advertising we want to hand out flyers on campus starting our first week back. We have some volunteers but we need a lot more. The more people who volunteer, the less we all have to do!!! ok, so how it works is Monday at 6 pm in the MACK alcove the people who volunteer will come to the beginning of the steering committee meeting and I will hand them some flyers. They can hand them out wherever, but at least one person should have the UC as their locale, and on whatever day is most convenient. They will continue to hand them out until they run out of flyers. Pretty simple huh? ok so just either leave a message on here or email the vday account at gmail and tell me what week you want. People who have already volunteered are: For the week of January 8th: Jessica January 15th: Payge January 22nd: Heather January 29th: **Karisa** NEW! So please volunteer. This is very low time commitment and it will benefit the show greatly! There will be UC times booked weekly as well to sell tickets and merch. If you don’t want to walk around handing out flyers, you can sit and sell stuff. Its up to you but both will help a lot. Also to the cast: Krissy needs your 50 word, or less, bio for the programs! making the programs is a big time consuming ordeal so be considerate and send them to here at shewalks@gmail.com. ok? Thank you! -Alicia Tags: flyers

For your viewing pleasure.... We are emailing bands left, right and centre. We are checking set-up time in Grad Lounge for the 26th. Hopefully 8 o'clock. We will need a set-up and clean-up crew. Sign-up sheets will be passed around in the new year. SRM forms must be completed before we advertise. So they are being started ASAP and will be handed in before first SRM meeting of new semester. We have emailed Fantasia to get a rep to sell merch at our event, will draw a crowd, and hopefully we'll get a portion of profits ( in merch or $) Decorations will be evry simple. Any artsy people out there? We will have supplies avalable at one of cast rehearsals for banner making. We need art. Who volunteered to take this on? Any updates for me? We need a press release. Whoever is doing V-Day press/media relations... can you take this on? WICKED. Post your responses!!!! Tags: benefit
